Galactic Quest
Part One: Return of the Sith
Prologue
A thousand years after the destruction of the first Death Star, and the galaxy was finally at peace. The evil forces of the Sith had been eliminated from the galaxy. But peace will not last long. The Jedi Knights, protectors of peace and justice, are about to face the New Sith Order, one more powerful then ever before.
Chapter One
The Imperial Star Destroyer Chimaera was once the flagship of the great Imperial Fleet. But the Galactic Empire was now long gone. The giant spacecraft, now in the hands of space pirates, was silently orbiting the tiny planet of Wayland.
At the bridge of the Star Destroyer the space pirates assembled, and a hooded figure, cloaked in darkness and deception, stood before them.
The man spoke, “The Jedi are becoming more and more concerned about space pirate attacks. They plan to attack this base. You could flee, but I suggest you engage the Jedi in combat. With the Sith gone, you pirates are all the Jedi have to fight. I need someone to fight against if I am to show my skill and rise to higher and more powerful ranks in the
Jedi Council. That’s why I must ensure that space pirates like yourselves survive, so I’m giving each of you lightsabers. Defend yourselves well, fight a good fight, and try not to hit my X-Wing.”
And with that said, he handed each of the space pirates a lightsaber. The pirates took the weapons, and the hooded figure left the room.
Chapter Two
“Dark, the coming storm grows,” Zak Katar said. The other members of the Jedi Council listened intently.
”Master, how could this be? The Sith have been forever eliminated from the galaxy,” James Skywalker replied. James was once Zak’s apprentice. He had recently reached the rank of Jedi Knight, and had begun training his own apprentice, Leo Zaar. James was a direct descendant of Luke Skywalker, and Darth Vader. The Force was with him, but James still had much to learn.
“Eliminated, yes.” Zak replied, “But forever?”
“How could the Sith return?” James asked.
“I don’t know,” Zak replied, “And I’m not sure they will, but I sense that something is not right. There is great danger drawing close, something that will affect the whole galaxy. But I don’t know what it is. Have there been any new space pirate reports, Commander Zega?”
“Yes sir, they’ve attacked a cargo ship an hour ago in the Wayland sector. Our recon droids have identified the ship as the Chimaera.” Zega replied. He had been trained in the ways of the Jedi Order, but Zega had also been given command over Gold Squadron, the Republic’s elite forces.
James laughed, “That old hunk of junk? It’s a millennium old! The ship won’t stand a chance against Gold Squadron!”
“The Chimaera has seen many battles,” Zak said, “Never underestimate its power. Still, I want Gold Squadron and Red Squadron to get to the Wayland sector as soon as possible. I’ll come too, and James should come as well.”
“Yes sir,” Zega replied, “From what we can tell from intelligence reports, the front section of the Chimaera is badly damaged, and one missile there could blow the whole ship apart.”
“Then this shouldn’t be too hard.” James replied.
Chapter Three
The two squadrons of X-Wing Starfighters dropped out of hyperspace, accompanied by two other X-Wings flown by Zak and James.
Zak spotted the Chimaera before anyone else. His astromech droid beeped an alert. And a second later came the all too familiar sound of TIE Fighters.
“Here they come!” Zak yelled over comlink as the TIE Fighters, piloted by space pirates, came flying towards the X-Wings.
Space became filled with laser fire. But the pirates were not very skilled pilots, and half of their starfighters were gone minutes.
The X-Wings of Red Squadron sped towards the planet Wayland.
“Gold Leader here,” Zega said over comlink, “Stand by for ground assault.”
Gold Squadron followed as Zega flew over the forests of Wayland, heading towards the clearing where the pirate base stood.
And suddenly a TIE Fighter seemed to come out of nowhere, blasting the leader of Red Squadron with a barrage of laser fire.
Cypher Darkfire’s X-Wing came crashing to the ground.
“No!” Zega yelled. He began to land his X-Wing.
“What are you doing?” Zak said.
Zega didn’t reply, as soon as his X-Wing was on the ground he leaped from the cockpit and ran towards the smoldering remains of Cypher Darkfire’s X-Wing. The cockpit had been completely vaporized by the blast. There was nothing left of Cypher Darkfire’s body.
Zega went back to his X-Wing, feeling a rush of emotions. He had lost a good friend.
And suddenly, he heard a lightsaber turn on. A space pirate was approaching, armed with a green lightsaber.
Zega immediately turned on his own lightsaber. Its blade glowed with a brilliant gold color. Zega was shocked, with no idea how the pirate had gotten a hold of a Jedi weapon. Had he killed a Jedi?
He was even more shocked, when moments later, ten more space pirates ran out the forest, armed with lightsabers.
Zak and James saw that Zega was in trouble. They brought their X-Wings down in the clearing and ran towards Zega.
The three Jedi battled against the space pirates. They were outnumbered, but were able to defeat all the space pirates in a matter of minutes. As James picked up the lightsabers, Zak pointed to the pirate base at the other end of the clearing.
Zack said, “Get the explosives out of your X-Wing’s cargo hold and let’s take care of that base. It’s the overall objective of this mission anyway.”
“Yes sir!” Zega replied.
The three Jedi ran into the base, carrying the explosives. They expected to encounter more space pirates, but the base was evacuated. Zega set down the explosives.
“I’ve got the explosives timed to blow up in three minutes! Now let’s get out of here!” Zega said.
Zak picked up a datacard from a table.
“I have a strange feeling about this datacard.” Zak said, “Something is recorded on it. I feel like I should watch it.”
James said, “Come one! We don’t have time for datacards! It’s probably just some old security holovid. Let’s go!”
“Okay,” Zak replied, “But I’m taking the datacard with me.”
He put it in his pocket and the Jedi ran out of the base. As their X-Wings took off, the base exploded beneath them.
“Mission accomplished!” Zega yelled.
“But wait,” Zak said, “The Chimaera is still in orbit!”
They could see the Star Destroyer clearly now as they entered the void of space.
“Target the front tip!” James said.
The X-Wings sped towards the Chimaera, but seconds before they reached it, it blasted off into hyperspace.
They had missed their chance. The three Jedi led the rest of Gold Squadron back to Coruscant.
Chapter Four
The circular meeting room of the Jedi Council was empty except for James, Zak, and Zega.
“I’ve given the ten lightsabers we picked up on Wayland to the Jedi Council.” James said, “How the pirates got those lightsabers in the first place still remains a mystery.”
“Actually,” Zak said, “I know how they got their lightsabers.”
“What?” Zega exclaimed.
“It’s all on that security holovid I took from the pirate base. I told you that datacard was important.” Zak said, “Here, I’ll play it for you.”
Zak inserted the datacard into the hologram projector in the center of the room. A holographic security video began to play. In the video, a hooded figure was giving lightsabers to the pirates.
“That’s Cypher Darkfire!” Zega exclaimed, “He gave them lightsabers!”
“He’s a traitor!” James said, “He pretends to be a Jedi, but look! He’s supplying our enemies with weapons!”
Zak replied, “Well, we won’t have to worry about him anymore. His starfighter crashed, remember?”
“Right,” Zega replied, “At least the next space pirates we face won’t have lightsabers.”
Zak replied, “Yes, but we won’t be facing any pirates for a while. We got assigned a mission to deliver a load of explosives to the New Republic base on Utapau.”
“Great, another boring old delivery mission.” Zega said. “They need all three of us for this mission?”
“Hey, it’s one of the only missions the council has. Besides, the Republic wants to ensure that their transport ships are safe from pirates, so they’re sending the Jedi on missions like this. It’s unlikely we’ll encounter any pirates, so yes, this mission is a bit boring compared to our last, but at least it’s safe.” Zak replied, “No more getting shot at by blasters.”
Chapter Five
The cargo ship flew through hyperspace faster then light. Zak sat in the cockpit at the pilot’s seat, with James next to him in the copilot seat. Zega was in the cargo hold. And Leo, James’s apprentice, was in his quarters.
“I still don’t think bringing you apprentice was a good idea,” Zak said, “He’s too young. He has little training.”
“Stop worrying,” James replied, “It’s a big galaxy. Leo needs to get out and explore. That’s what’s so great about being a Jedi. Besides, what could possibly happen on a mission like this?”
Suddenly, the ship dropped out of hyperspace.
“What happened?” James exclaimed. “We’re not supposed to drop out of hyperspace yet!”
Zega entered the cockpit. “There’s something wrong with the hyperdrive. We’ll have to land to get it fixed. What’s that planet up ahead?”
James hit some buttons on the ship computer. “According to the nav data that’s the planet Endor.” He said, “It’s uninhabited except by a primitive species called the Ewoks. Great. There’s nowhere we can get the hyperdrive fixed on that planet. I’ll contact the New Republic fleet on Coruscant and tell them we might be in need of assistance.”
The council on Coruscant told James they’d send over a ship to assist the Jedi. And just as James disconnected the communications with Coruscant, Zega spotted a ship in orbit ahead of them.
“What’s that ship up ahead?” he asked.
In another minute they were close enough to see it clearly.
“It’s the Chimaera!” James exclaimed.
“I’ve got a bad feeling about this.” Zak said.
“They’ve got us in tractor beam.” James said.
“What?” Zak exclaimed, “Now I’ve got an even worse feeling about this.”
“We’re getting pulled into the docking bay!” Zega exclaimed.
“Don’t just sit there!” James said, “Put the engines in full reverse! Maybe we can break free!”
“I’m trying!” Zak yelled, “There’s no escape!”
The ship was pulled into the Chimaera, and as soon as the ship hit the docking bay floor, Zak, James, Zega, and Leo lept out with lightsabers on.
A hundred guards surrounded them, blasters ready. A hooded figure, dressed in black, approached them.
“Drop your weapons,” he said.
The Jedi turned off their lightsabers.
“Drop them,” the man repeated.
The Jedi dropped their lightsabers, and instantly the guards grabbed them and tied their hands. A guard picked up the lightsabers and handed them to the hooded man.
“Excellent,” the man said, “I’ll add these lightsabers to my collection.”
“Who are you?” James asked.
“I am Darth Chaos, the leader of the New Sith Order,” he said, “Now get these Jedi scum to the detention block!”
“Yes sir!” a guard replied, and the Jedi were led down a long corridor. Darth Chaos followed.
Chapter Six
His hands were tied, but Zak managed to reach the small device in his pocket. He pressed the button on it, and a sudden explosion shook the Star Destroyer, knocking everyone off their feet. Darth Chaos was knocked over. The Jedi lightsabers in his hand rolled across the floor.
“What happened?” Darth Chaos yelled
“I’ve remotely detonated the explosives in our cargo ship!” James yelled.
“Sir!” a guard yelled, “The ship is going down!”
“Eject all the escape pods except my personal shuttle!” Darth Chaos replied, “I’ll leave these Jedi to die when the ship crashes!”
Darth Chaos and the guards ran down the corridor.
Using Force Pull, Zak grabbed his lightsaber that was lying on the ground. Turning it on, he cut the rope tying his hands with its yellow blade. Now free, he cut the bonds of the other Jedi. The Jedi ran down the corridor. Looking out a window, they could see the escape pods being jettisoned from the Star Destroyer. The Jedi ran towards the bridge. Zak took control of the ship as it plummeted towards the forests of Endor.
Chapter Seven
The Chimaera slammed into the forest, vaporizing trees on impact. Much of the ship was destroyed, but the bridge remained intact, and the Jedi survived.
In another part of the forest, Darth Chaos reached out with the Force.
“Those Jedi scum survived the crash! I can still sense their presence!” He exclaimed, “Search the forest! Hunt them down!”
“Yes sir!” A guard replied.
The squadron of Sith Guards began searching the forest.
The Jedi made their way through the forest until they reached a stream.
“Stay here, Padawan!” Zak said to Leo.
“But Master!” Leo whined.
“I sense great danger nearby.” Zak replied, “You do not yet have enough training. Gold Leader! Stay with the youngling until we return. James and I will explore the area.”
“Yes sir!” Zega replied.
Zega and Leo sat down by the stream as Zak and James went off into the forest. For hours, Leo stared into the stream, watching small fish swim about. Everything was completely quiet. Too quiet.
Suddenly blaster fire came out of nowhere. A dozen Sith Guards cam charging towards Zega and Leo. Zega immediately ignited his gold lightsaber. Leo turned his green lightsaber on a moment later.
“Run!” Zega yelled as he blocked blaster shots with his blade.
Leo ran deep into the forest. Zega would not see him again for a long time.
Chapter Eight
Zak and James had been walking through the forest for hours. Zak kept saying that he sensed something, but James did not sense anything. And suddenly-
“Look out!” Zak said, igniting his yellow lightsaber. James turned his blue lightsaber on.
Someone jumped out from behind a tree, armed with a lightsaber with an orange blade. He attacked the two Jedi.
The Jedi defended themselves well, and after a minute of battling the man’s saber locked with James’s, and Zak kicked him in the chest. The man dropped his lightsaber and landed on his back. Zak aimed his lightsaber at him.
“Who are you?” Zak asked.
“He’s a Sith!” James yelled, “I sense the Dark Side within him!”
“No!” The man said, “I am not a Sith! I am a Sith no longer. I left the Sith Order! I am a Drifter, neither a Sith nor a Jedi. I am the Drifter Lord, the leader of the Drifter Order! I hate the Sith! And the Jedi!”
“Whoever you are,” Zak said, “You’re under arrest!”
James tied the Drifter Lord’s hands, as Zak contacted Zega over comlink.
”What is it?” Zega asked.
“Has the New Republic ship arrived yet?” Zak asked.
“Yeah,” Zega replied, “I’m at the ship now. Four Republic soldiers from Green Squadron are onboard. Where are you?”
“I’m not sure,” Zak replied, “We were attacked by some sort of Sith. But he says he’s not of the Sith Order, but of the Drifter Order.”
“Drifter Order?” Zega replied, “I’ve never heard of that.”
“Neither have I,” Zak replied, “We have the Drifter in custody. Send Green Squadron to search the area. Once we find the ship we’ll drop the prisoner off there.”
“Yes sir,” Zega replied.
Zega wondered if he should tell Zak about the Sith Guards that attacked him. If Zak found out that Leo was missing then Zega would be in big trouble. Hopefully Green Squadron could find Leo, before it was too late.
Chapter Nine
A soldier of Green Squadron found Zak and James within a few minutes. She led them, along with the Drifter Lord, to the New Republic ship.
“The ship is all ready to go, sir,” the soldier said, “Are you ready to get off this planet?”
“Yes,” Zak replied.
“Wait,” James said, “What about the Sith Lord we encountered on the Chimaera? We cannot run away cowardly while he still lurks in this forest! We must seek him out, and destroy this New Sith Order, before it gains any more strength!”
“A Jedi battles only in defense,” Zak said, “Attacking ones enemy is not the Jedi way.”
“Sir,” Zega said, “I agree with James. This Sith is, as far as we know, the only Sith in this New Sith Order. We must deal with him now, before he finds an apprentice.”
“Fine,” Zak said, “But I have a bad feeling about this.”
Zak ordered the soldiers of Green Squadron to stay and guard the ship. Zak, James, and Zega searched to forest. Reaching out with the Force, Zak could sense the presence of the Sith, getting closer and closer. They reached a small clearing.
And there he was. Darth Chaos.
The three Jedi turned on their lightsabers, yellow, blue, and gold.
Darth Chaos did not turn on a lightsaber.
James charged forward. Darth Chaos held out his hand, and out of it a spray of lightning sent James flying backwards into a tree.
Zak and Zega charged forward together. Darth Chaos held Zega back with the grip of Force Choke. Zak sensed it coming a second before it struck, and managed to block another blast of Force Lightning with his lightsaber.
And then, with a massive Force Push, Darth Chaos sent Zak and Zega flying back along with dirt and countless rocks. Darth Chaos’s Force powers were beyond any Zak had seen. Darth Chaos seemed unarmed. Yet three armed Jedi could not even approach him.
Zak grabbed his lightsaber and began to get up. Turning its yellow blade back on, he threw the lightsaber at Darth Chaos.
And a second before it hit him, Darth Chaos disappeared in a blinding flash of light.
“What happened?” James asked as he got up.
“I don’t know,” Zak said, “Probably some sort of Force Teleportation. I’ve never seen such a thing.”
“The powers of this Sith Lord are far beyond what we expected,” Zega said.
“Let’s get back to the ship,” Zak said, “We must inform the Jedi Council on Coruscant of this. Leo is at the ship, right?”
“Well, no,” Zega said.
“What!” James yelled.
“We were attacked by Sith Guards,” Zega explained, “He ran. I don’t know where he is now.”
“I’ve got a bad feeling about this,” Zak said, once again.
Chapter Ten
Leo was still running through the forest. He was lost, and very afraid. Suddenly there was a blinding flash of light.
Darth Chaos was right in front of him.
Darth Chaos took out a lightsaber, turning on its red blade. He held it to Leo’s neck.
“Come with me,” the Sith said, “You must learn the ways of the Dark Side, my new apprentice.

Part Two: Rise of the Sith
Chapter Eleven
It was a month since the Jedi encountered Darth Chaos on Endor. In this time the New Sith Order had grown much more powerful.
Leo had stayed on Endor as Darth Chaos trained him, along with several others, in the ways of the Dark Side.
Leo was sparring another Sith Apprentice with wooden practice sticks. Leo’s skills had increased, and he managed to knock the other Sith down. Darth Chaos approached.
“Excellent,” Darth Chaos said, “Now for a test of your strength. Take your lightsaber, and kill him!”
“No!” The other Sith Apprentice yelled.
Darth Chaos spoke, “Use your anger, it will give you power! It will make you stronger! Feel the power of the Dark Side of the Force, and kill him! Now!”
“Yes, my master,” Leo said. He turned on his new Sith lightsaber, and thrust its red blade into the fallen Sith Apprentice.
“Indeed you are powerful,” Darth Chaos said, “You have earned the rank of Sith Knight. If you are to become a Sith Lord, you must prove your allegiance to me by succeeding in one more task. You must kill James Skywalker, your former Jedi Master. “
Chapter Twelve
Darth Chaos and Leo boarded the Imperial Shuttle that would take them to the Imperial Star Destroyer Interceptor.
Once onboard, Darth Chaos headed for the bridge.
“Set a course for the battlestation, commander.” Darth Chaos said.
“Yes sir,” the commander replied.
The ship entered hyperspace.
“Ten minutes remaining until arrival at the battlestation,” the commander said.
“Excellent,” Darth Chaos said, “I trust the battlestation will be operational on time.”
The commander replied, “Of course sir, I mean, yes sir, of course.”
“And how much of the station is currently completed?” Darth Chaos asked.
“Well, sir, remember, for a station this size, we would need more workers if the station is to be completed as scheduled,” the commander said, “I mean, with all due respect sir, you haven’t supplied the sufficient-”
“I asked you a question!” Darth Chaos yelled, “How much of the station is currently completed?”
“Fifty percent sir,” the commander said.
“The station is only half complete!” Darth Chaos yelled, “I wanted this battlestation complete in time for the attack of Coruscant! This is too far behind schedule! And you say it will be completed on time! Time is running out commander!”
Darth Chaos gripped the commander in a Force Choke.
“It will be completed on time sir!” the commander gasped.
Darth Chaos released the commander.
“For your sake commander, I certainly hope so,” he said, “Admiral! Contact the rest of my fleet. We are ready for the attack on Coruscant. We’ll have to do it without the battlestation.”
“Sir,” the admiral said, “Coruscant is the most heavily defended planet in New Republic territory! If we were defeated on Endor, a tiny worthless moon, we’ll never stand a chance attacking the capital of the New Republic!”
Darth Chaos replied, “Coruscant is the place the New Republic least expects us to attack! The element of surprise will gain us victory at Coruscant. From there we will attack Endor and Naboo with full force, and planet by planet, we will conquer the entire galaxy! And when my great battlestation is complete, I will be invincible!”
Chapter Thirteen
Coruscant was under attack. Darth Chaos watched the battle from the Interceptor. The New Republic was holding their ground, but they were suffering many casualties as countless New Republic ships were destroyed. It was a surprise attack like none other.
Darth Chaos was beginning to realize his forces had done all the damage they could. They were not yet powerful enough for total victory at Coruscant. But they had done some serious damage to the New Republic fleet.
“We must retreat,” Darth Chaos said, “Set a course for Endor.”
“Yes, sir,” the commander said.
One of the Sith Apprentices ran into the room. “No!” he shouted.
“What is it?” Darth Chaos said.
The Sith Apprentice said, “Sir, you must reconsider! While meditating, I saw a vision, the Jedi Lord! The one who will become the Jedi Lord, he is on Endor! The prophecies tell of the Jedi Lord! He is the one who will destroy the Sith Order forever! You must not go to Endor!”
Darth Chaos replied, “It was only a dream you saw. It has no meaning. The Jedi Lord is a myth, nothing more.”
“No!” The apprentice yelled, “The Jedi Lord will destroy you!”
Furious, Darth Chaos gripped the apprentice’s neck in a Force Choke.
“Nothing can destroy me!” Darth Chaos yelled.
The Sith Apprentice fell to the ground, dead.
Chapter Fourteen
On the swamp planet of Dagobah stood a New Republic Prison.
A prison guard entered cell block 028, passing by another prison guard in the storage room.
“Droid 328 needs repair,” the guard said.
“Droid 328 always needs repair,” the other guard mumbled.
“What is it today,” the guard asked, approaching the prison control room, where several computer consoles stood.
“There’s an execution due in Cell 035” the other guard replied, squinting at a computer screen.
“Alight,” the guard said, “I got this one; go back to your post.”
The guard grabbed an E11 Blaster Rifle from a rack of weapons and walked to Cell 035. Then he inserted a keycard that disabled the shields around the door. The guard entered the cell, where the Drifter Lord stood.
“What is it?” the Drifter Lord asked.
The guard replied, “You have earned a death warrant for your crimes. A droid will inject you with a lethal-”
Using Force Pull, the Drifter Lord snatched the blaster rifle right out of the Drifter Lord’s hand. He fired two shots at the guard, and the guard fell down, dead.
The Drifter Lord grabbed the guard’s keycard. He ran down the corridor and into the storage room. The Drifter Lord shot the guard in the storage room, then used the keycard to open a safe. Inside the safe was the Drifter Lord’s lightsaber. The Drifter Lord grabbed the lightsaber and turned on its orange blade. An alarm sounded. The Drifter Lord ran towards the exit, cutting down two more guards, and made his escape.
He was determined to find a way off the swampy wasteland of Dagobah. He had to have revenge on the Jedi that arrested him.
Chapter Fifteen
“It’s been a month since we were last on Endor. I’m beginning to doubt if we’ll ever find Leo,” Zak said.
“No, he’s here; I can sense his presence, and the presence of Darth Chaos.” James said, as the ship landed on Endor.
“I’ve got a bad feeling about this,” Zak said.
The ship landed and Zak, James, and Zega left the ship and entered the forests of Endor.
“If we split up, we’ll have a better chance of finding him,” Zega said.
“Finding who?” Zak asked, “Leo or Darth Chaos?”
“Hopefully Leo,” James said, “Let’s split up and meet back at the ship in two hours.”
The three Jedi split up and searched the forest.
James came across the same small clearing where they had encountered Darth Chaos a month ago. Leo was there.
James came closer. Leo turned on his red lightsaber. Leo charged at James, attacking him. James turned on his blue lightsaber, and they battled, master against apprentice, blue against red.
But James was older and stronger then Leo, and he was able to knock Leo down with a Force Push. Leo’s lightsaber fell to the ground. Leo backed up, into a tree, and James held his lightsaber at Leo’s throat.
“What happened to you?” James yelled, “What have you become?”
Leo said, “I am no longer your apprentice. The Dark Side is more powerful, it is the full power of the Force!”
“No! The Sith are evil!” James shouted, “Join me again, you belong with the Jedi!”
Leo said, “You don’t know the power of the Dark Side! I will never join you!”
“You’re no longer the Jedi I once knew! You’ve become evil, you’ve become a Sith!” James yelled, “Don’t make me destroy you!”
And suddenly Darth Chaos appeared in a flash of light.
Chapter Sixteen
“No!” Darth Chaos yelled, firing Force Lightning at James. James was hit by the blast of lightning. He fell down and lost his lightsaber.
Leo grabbed his lightsaber, and lunged for James’s lightsaber. James snatched his lightsaber with Force Pull a second before Leo could grab it. James turned on his lightsaber. He was furious.
“What have you done with my padawan?” He yelled at Darth Chaos, “You will pay for what you’ve done! You will die!”
James ran towards Darth Chaos, but then a blast of Force Lightning slammed into him. James was hurled backwards into a tree. The lightning continued constantly. James blocked it as best he could with his lightsaber.
“Leo! The lightning is too intense! I can’t block it much longer! Destroy him! Destroy the Sith!” James yelled.
“No! Remember the power of the Dark Side! You are a Sith now! Use your anger, and destroy the Jedi!” Darth Chaos shouted.
Leo was not sure what to do.
“You are a Jedi!” James yelled.
“The Sith are more powerful! It is your destiny to join me!” Darth Chaos shouted.
“You must choose!” James yelled.
Leo still did not know what to do. He could not kill his new Sith Master. But he could not kill his former Jedi Master either.
And suddenly the lightning stopped. It had been draining Darth Chaos’s energy. He could do it no longer. James charged at Darth Chaos, intent on killing the evil Sith once and for all.
“No!” Leo yelled, running towards James.
James’s lightsaber was just centimeters from Darth Chaos when the Sith disappeared in a blinding flash of light.
Chapter Seventeen
James and Leo turned off their lightsabers.
“I’m sorry master,” Leo said.
“Come with me,” James said,
Leo followed as James started heading back to the ship.
Halfway to the ship, James stopped.
“What is it?” Leo asked.
“There’s a disturbance in the Force,” James said, “A presence I’ve not sensed since-”
Suddenly they heard the sound of a lightsaber turning on. The Drifter Lord jumped out from a behind a tree.
“We put you under arrest!” James exclaimed.
“I escaped!” The Drifter Lord said, “And I returned here, for revenge!”
James turned on his blue lightsaber. Leo turned on both his green Jedi lightsaber and his Red Sith lightsaber a moment later. The Drifter Lord attacked James and Leo.
Chapter Eighteen
In another part of the forest, Zak and Zega began to head back to the ship.
“I told you we wouldn’t find anything,” Zega said.
There was a sudden blinding flash of light, and Darth Chaos was in front of them.
Zak and Zega turned on their lightsabers immediately.
Zak expected a blast of Force Lightning to come at them, but instead of using Force powers, Darth Chaos pulled out a lightsaber and turned on its red blade. Zak and Zega took defensive stances. Darth Chaos turned on the second red blade of his lightsaber. It was double bladed.
Darth Chaos charged towards Zak and Zega.
In a nearby section of the forest, James and Leo battled against the Drifter Lord.
Within minutes the two battles collided into one massive battle in a large clearing. The four Jedi battled against Darth Chaos and the Drifter Lord. Darth Chaos battled against the Drifter Lord and the four Jedi. The Drifter Lord battled against the four Jedi and Darth Chaos.
Darth Chaos lunged at the Drifter Lord, and with a slash of his lightsaber he cut off the Drifter Lord’s right hand. The Drifter Lord cried out. His lightsaber fell to the ground. Darth Chaos swung his lightsaber at the Drifter Lord’s head, but a second before the lightsaber struck him, the Drifter Lord disappeared in a blinding flash of light.
Zega was shocked. He had no idea the Drifter Lord could teleport as well. He must have uncovered the secrets of Force Transport recently.
With the Drifter Lord gone, the Jedi charged at Darth Chaos.
“In time, my apprentice will return to me! Then, we will destroy you! And all the Jedi!” Darth Chaos shouted. He then disappeared in a blinding flash of light.
The battle was over.
Chapter Nineteen
The Jedi turned off their lightsabers.
“You made the right decision, to leave the Sith and join the Jedi again,” James told Leo.
“No,” Leo replied, “I cannot be a Jedi. Or a Sith.”
Leo picked up the Drifter Lord’s lightsaber and turned on its orange blade.
“No!” James yelled.
In a blinding flash of light, Leo disappeared.
James walked to the spot where Leo stood only seconds before.
“I have failed,” James said.
“No,” Zak replied.
“The Sith have grown more powerful then we ever expected,” James said.
“We haven’t seen the last of Leo. We will find him, I know it,” Zak said.
James said, “I had no idea he had mastered the power of teleportation. Darth Chaos must have taught it to him. See? The youngling becomes more and more powerful, but his powers are Dark Side powers, they can be used only for evil. Now he is a Drifter. He is lost, neither Sith or Jedi, battling against both orders.”
Zak said, “The Force is strong with him. But his abilities can be used for good, they will. I know it. It is his destiny to be a Jedi. He is lost now, but he will return to the Jedi Order.”
A week later, Zak had a vision while meditating at the Jedi Temple on Yavin4. He James’s quarters.
“I had a dream, a strange dream,” Zak said.
“What was it?” James asked.
Zak spoke, “It was a vision, of the Jedi Lord. The ancient prophecies, they tell of his coming. They tell of the Jedi Lord destroying the entire Sith Order, bringing ultimate peace to the whole galaxy. I used to think the Jedi Lord was a myth, but now, now I know it is the truth. This great battle between the Jedi and the Sith, between good and evil, it has been going on almost as long as time itself, but it will finally come to an end, and the Jedi, the protectors of peace and justice in the galaxy, they will conquer the Sith and bring freedom to the whole galaxy. The coming of the Jedi Lord will end this reign of evil throughout the galaxy. I don’t know who the Jedi Lord will be, but he is coming soon. The galaxy now has a new hope." _________________

Part Three: Triumph of the Jedi
Chapter Twenty
Darth Chaos’s private shuttle docked with the newly completed battlestation. He entered the battlestation’s central command center, where commanders and generals were discussing military tactics. They all stopped talking as soon as Darth Chaos entered the room.
“The station is complete, sir,” a commander said.
Darth Chaos spoke, “Yes, with this battlestation complete, we will be invincible. The first two Death Stars of the great Galactic Empire had minor faults that led to their destruction, but this battlestation is indestructible. With it, we will complete our conquest of the entire galaxy!”
“Of course, sir,” the commander said, “Our reconnaissance reports indicate that the New Republic sending a massive convoy of ships, almost their entire fleet, to attack our base on Endor.”
“Excellent,” Darth Chaos replied.
“Excellent?” the commander said, “Our forces on Endor are no match for the entire New Republic fleet! We must bring al available reinforcements to Endor immediately or we will loose control of the planet!”
“No!” Darth Chaos said, “Instead we will pull all our forces off the planet of Endor and prepare for an attack on Naboo!”
“That’s insane!” the commander exclaimed, “Endor is one of the only systems we have complete control over! And now you want to abandon it to go attack a heavily defended planet?”
“Let the Republic take Endor,” Darth Chaos said, “The planet is useless. It has no resources other then wood, and all that inhabits it are primitive creatures that are almost extinct. Naboo is a planet we must capture. We must attack it now while most of the New Republic fleet is busy making a journey to Endor and-”
The commander interrupted, “We can’t attack Naboo! I must object! Endor is far too valuable to the-”
Darth Chaos gripped the commander’s throat with the Force.
“Never object to my command!” Darth Chaos said.
He released the commander. His body fell to the floor, dead.
Chapter Twenty-One
On the desert wastelands of the planet Tatooine, the Drifters assembled.
There were a hundred of them. They were all armed with orange lightsabers. Some of them were ex-Sith. Most of them were ex-Jedi.
Zak, Zega, and James watched from a nearby cliff. Hopefully, they could find Leo here.
The Drifter Lord spoke to the masses, “The Sith forces have begun their attack on the planet Naboo. This will be the final battle between the Jedi and the Sith. In the end, they will both be destroyed! The time has come for the Drifter Order to unify, with all our forces together we will destroy the Jedi Order and the Sith Order once and for all!”
“I see Leo!” James whispered to Zak.
“I have a bad feeling about this,” Zak said.
Suddenly, the Drifters spotted the Jedi. Some of them pulled out blasters and fired at the Jedi.
Zak, Zega, and James turned on their lightsabers and leaped off the cliff, falling thirty feet to the ground.
“Attack!” The Drifter Lord screamed.
The Drifters charged at the Jedi, who were impossibly outnumbered. They Jedi managed to stay alive for another minute, and then James leaped to the top of the cliff with Force Jump.
“Stop!” James yelled.
Miraculously, the Drifters stopped.
“Can’t you see?” James said to the Drifters, “The Sith are evil! They conquer planets, enslave billions, slaughter whole races to extinction. Now the Sith gather all their forces to attack Naboo! If they are not stopped, yet another planet will fall into their hands. The Sith must be stopped! The fate of the galaxy depends on it! The New Republic needs all the Jedi it can get if we are to stand a chance against the New Sith Order! Many of you were Jedi once. Even if you weren’t, we ask for your support now, at least until Naboo is once again safe from the evil forces of the Sith!”
There was silence. Leo emerged from the crowd of Drifters, wielding a orange lightsaber. He turned the lightsaber off and dropped it to the ground. Leo pulled out his green Jedi lightsaber and turned it on.
“I am not a Drifter,” he said, “I am a Jedi.”
One by one, the Drifters turned off their orange lightsabers, and agreed to join the Jedi.
“Wait!” the Drifter Lord yelled, “You are Drifters, not Jedi!”
“The Sith are evil! They must be stopped!” a Drifter said.
“Evil is only a point of view!” the Drifter Lord said, “From my point of view, the Jedi are evil!”
James said, “Evil is more than a point of view! We can be sure of what is good and what is evil, and we must be on the side of good! All those who wish to join the Jedi Order come with me back to my ship back to my ship. The Jedi council will give you new lightsabers, and then you will be ready to defend Naboo from the forces of evil.”
All the Drifters except for the Drifter Lord pledged their allegiance to the Jedi. The Drifter Lord was arrested once again.
Hours later, New Republic battleships approached the planet Naboo, carrying all the Jedi of the Jedi Order.
Zak looked out the window at Naboo.
The Third Death Star was in orbit over the planet.
Chapter Twenty-Two
Ion bolts ripped through space, just missing the ten X-Wing starfighters of the New Republic’s Gold Squadron.
Zega’s astromech droid whistled an alert.
“We got TIE’s coming up from behind,” he said over comlink.
“Roger that Gold Leader,” Gold Two replied.
Instinctively, Zega’s left hand jerked the accelerator up as his right pulled the maneuvering stick. His X-Wing flew upwards, in a loop, coming around behind the TIE fighters. Pulling on the trigger, a wave of laser fire blasted a TIE fighter into rubble, but two others were already firing on Gold Two.
“Gold Two, get out of there!” Zega yelled over comlink but it was too late. The walls of the Third Death Star trench limited maneuverability, and Gold Two could not escape the blaster fire from the TIES. Her X-Wing starfighter exploded. The flash of light reflected off the trench walls, blinding Zega’s eyes. Zega yelled and gunned the starfighter forward. Concussion missiles from the other Gold Commandos slammed into the TIE fighters, blasting them apart.
He thought he was safe for a split second, but then his astromech droid was beeping warnings like crazy. Looking left Zega saw a whole squadron of TIE Interceptors and Tri-fighters coming in, blasters blazing. Gold Squadron fired back, outnumbered but confident. Space became filled with laser fire, green and red, in every direction, just missing Zega’s X-Wing.
One wrong move would lead to oblivion.
Chapter Twenty-Three
Through the chaos Zega could see the Death Star shield generator ahead.
“We got one shot at this, so make it count!” He yelled to the other Gold Commandos over comlink.
Zega watched as a barrage of missiles from their X-Wings slammed into the generator. Adrenaline shot through his veins as fragments from the blast scratched the hull of his starfighter.
The other members of Gold Squadron followed Zega into the Death Star hanger bay, where they landed, and encountered immediate resistance.
Sith Guards were firing from all angles, but the firepower of our X-Wings overpowered them. Jumping out of the X-Wing starfighters the remaining members of Gold Squadron ran down the central corridor to the shielding of the reactor core, where they planted the timed explosives that would destroy the Death Star’s power system.
Zega sure hoped that twenty minutes would give them enough time to get out alive. Getting into the Death Star had been hard, but escaping was even more difficult.
Zega led Gold Squadron through a winding hallway, coming around a corner to find the Darth Chaos himself, surrounded by several Sith Guards.
Blaster fire broke out immediately, leaving the Sith Guards and several members of Gold Squadron dead. But the blasters did nothing against Darth Chaos, who ignited his lightsaber in single bladed mode, and in a sweeping arc he blocked every shot.
Zega immediately grabbed his own lightsaber from his belt. With the press of a button its shimmering gold blade came to life. Darth Chaos leapt forward fearlessly, his lightsaber swinging in wild arcs. Zega blocked the attack, but it knocked him backwards into a door. The door opened and Zega fell into a room.
Getting up, he realized it was some sort of command center. A circular table with a holographic projector stood in the middle, with computer systems all around.
Darth Chaos swung his lightsaber at Zega’s head. Taking his around, Zega blocked the attack. Their lightsaber struck, red against gold, creating a flash of light that lit the room.
Suddenly, Darth Chaos raised his left hand. Using Force Lightning, he summoned electrical power and a bolt of lightning struck at Zega, knocking him down.
Darth Chaos jumped high in the air, over the table in the center of the room, lightsaber raised and ready to come down on Zega
Zega raised his left hand and summoned Force energy. A massive Force Push from his hand sent the Darth Chaos flying backwards, crashing into an array of computer systems and blinking lights.
Zega jumped towards Darth Chaos but was struck by more lightning. He blocked it with his lightsaber, but its power sent Zega backwards, crashing into another door. Zega ducked as the Darth Chaos’s lightsaber swung at his head. It missed and crashed into the door control panel. The door opened and Zega stepped backwards to escape another attack, entering the next room.
As he entered he realized where he was. It was an air shaft to the reactor core. Cylindrical walls surrounded a massive drop, thousands of feet down. A narrow walkway led to the middle of the shaft.
Zega charged towards Darth Overlord but more lightning shot from his hand. Zega was hit hard by the lightning. The fiery tendrils burned him severely.
The gold lightsaber fell from his burned hand, down the shaft, thousands of feet down, never to be seen again.
Zega saw no way he could escape.
Chapter Twenty-Four
Darth Chaos spoke, his voice filled with malice.
“You cannot defeat me! The power of the Dark Side of the Force is far greater then you could ever comprehend! With the Third Death Star complete, the Sith have become the ultimate power in the galaxy! This battle-station has the ability to destroy entire planets!”
“What are you waiting for?” Zega screamed back, “Go ahead! Kill me!”
“No!” Darth Chaos responded, “Not yet. I have a different plan for you. I have a task you must complete.”
Zega was filled with shock, relief, hope, and fear, all at once.
Darth Chaos pulled out a handheld hologram. It displayed an image of two Jedi, a Jedi Master and a Jedi Knight. Zega knew them well. They were Zak and James.
Darth Chaos continued, “These two Jedi pose a great threat to my attack force on the surface of Naboo. They have become more powerful then I anticipated, and they must be killed now if the Sith are to succeed in the attack. You know them well, and they trust you. That is why it will be easy for you to kill them.”
“No!” Zega screamed, “I’ll never kill them!”
Darth Chaos replied, “Then instead of these two Jedi dying, the Death Star will destroy your home planet of Correlia, with millions upon millions of people.”
Zega yelled, “No! No! You can’t do this!”
“I can do this!” Darth Chaos replied, “I need a planet to demonstrate the Death Star’s power on. Then the galaxy will learn the full power of the Sith! It’s your choice. Two Jedi, or your home planet.”
Zega looked down. He considered leaping, as Luke Skywalker had done on Bespin. But the drop was too far. He would never survive. He had to save Correlia.
“Alright!” he said, “Okay, I’ll do as you say. I’ll kill the two Jedi.”
Chapter Twenty-Five
Pulling out another lightsaber Darth Chaos said, “You have made the right decision. Your home planet will be spared”
He handed Zega the lightsaber and raised his hand. A ball of light formed, and in an instant, they were standing on the surface of the planet Naboo, the Death Star battlestation orbiting overhead. Darth Chaos had used the Force Transport, the power of teleportation, on himself and Zega.
Zak and James were nearby, in a wooded area, battling the Sith soldiers that had landed on the planet.
“Take the lightsaber, and slay the Jedi!” Darth Chaos said.
Zega took the lightsaber and turned it on. Its blade glowed red.
He approached the Jedi from behind. They did not see him. Zega raised the lightsaber. His hands trembled.
He could not do it.
In an instant, he spun around and threw the lightsaber at Darth Chaos.
Darth Chaos held out his hand. Using Force Push, the lightsaber flew back towards Zega.
Zega ducked and the lightsaber flew into a tree.
Zak and James ran towards Darth Chaos.
Darth Chaos yelled at Zega. His very being resonated anger, malice, evil.
“You have made the greatest mistake! Your life is at an end! You have sealed your fate!”
Zega grabbed the red lightsaber and ran into the battle. He was a Jedi, and he would fight with the Jedi. No matter what happened, the Jedi, the guardians of peace and justice in the galaxy, they must triumph over the evil Sith.
Charging out of the woods and into a huge field, Zega and Zak encountered hundreds of Sith, all armed with red lightsabers. Hundreds more Jedi, and the Drifters that had joined them, charged towards the Sith. Overhead, lasers flew and starfighters exploded, lighting the sky.
In the center of the huge field, James approached Darth Chaos.
Darth Chaos spoke, “You don’t stand a chance against the great Sith army, you Jedi Knight!”
James yelled, “I’m a Jedi Knight no longer!”
He threw down his green lightsaber and pulled out another lightsaber. Turning it on, it glowed brightly, a colorless white.
“I am a Jedi Lord!” James screamed, charging towards Darth Chaos .
Darth Chaos threw down his red lightsaber, and took out another lightsaber. Turning it on, it glowed pitch black. Darkness emanated from the blade.
The Jedi Lord had come. The ancient prophecies told of his coming, the one with a white lightsaber. The one who would forever destroy the Sith.
Chapter Twenty-Six
The powerful light from the Jedi Lord’s saber made him appear to be glowing like the sun. But Darth Chaos remained shrouded in a darkness darker than any other, a darkness that would fill any normal man’s heart with fear.
They charged at each other. Darth Chaos against James Skywalker. Sith Overlord against Jedi Lord. The forces of evil against the forces of good. Black against white.
As the lightsabers hit, flashes of blinding light lit the field. They battled faster and faster, and the flashes soon became a continuous sphere of light, like a star, sweeping across the field and into the air. Countless Jedi and Sith were vaporized as they were caught in its path. The star landed in the center of the field, it pulsed and dimmed, and the Jedi Lord and Sith Overlord could once again be seen.
The remaining Jedi and Sith encircled the Sith Overlord.
“CHARGE!!!” Zak yelled at the top of his lungs, and all the Jedi, even the Sith, all charged at the Darth Chaos.
Darth Chaos could not block all their attacks at once. Hundreds of lightsabers drew closer and closer to him as the Jedi charged. And then Darth Chaos disappeared in a blinding flash of light.
The Jedi stopped. They could clearly sense the presence of Darth Chaos onboard the Third Death Star.
“We’re loosing the battle!” Darth Chaos screamed at the Sith in the Death Star, “If we can’t capture Naboo, we’ll destroy it! Fire the Death Star superweapon at Naboo! Now!”
The enormous batteries of the superweapon charged, and a Sith Commander counted down the seconds until firing.
10…9…8…7…6…5…4…
With three seconds remaining, the explosives Zega had planted blasted the Death Star to billions of tiny fragments.
Chapter Twenty-Seven
As the other Jedi celebrated, James walked silently to a nearby lake. Zak approached him.
“What’s wrong?” Zak asked.
“Darth Chaos is still alive.” James said.
“What!” Zak exclaimed, “But I felt his presence on the Third Death Star seconds before it was destroyed!”
“I know,” James said, “He must have teleported off the Death Star just before its destruction. I sense he is on the planet Wayland, many lightyears from here. And I also sense that Darth Chaos was once the Jedi known as Cypher Darkfire!”
“The same Cypher Darkfire that crashed his X-Wing on Wayland, and betrayed the Jedi by supplying the space pirates with lightsabers?” Zak asked.
“Yes,” James replied, “I must confront him.”
“I must come with you,” Zak said.
“No!” James said, “This is between him and me.”
“I’m coming with you,” Zak said, “No matter what.”
“Fine,” James said, “Darth Chaos is now the only Sith remaining who has not pledged allegiance to the Jedi. Prepare for the final battle against the Sith, my old friend.”
Chapter Twenty-Eight
The two Jedi arrived on the planet Wayland. The forest seemed uninhabited at first, but James led Zak through it, and they soon found a wooden bridge leading across a canyon.
At the other end of the bridge was Darth Chaos, armed with his black lightsaber.
The two Jedi turned on their lightsabers and approached Darth Chaos.
“James Skywalker. We meet again,” Darth Chaos said, “Indeed you are the Jedi Lord. You are powerful, as the ancient prophecies foretold. But are you powerful enough to defeat me?”
James replied, “You overestimate your power. You are not Darth Chaos! You are Cypher Darkfire!”
“That name no longer has any meaning to me!” Darth Chaos yelled.
The Sith and the Jedi charged at each other. Darth Chaos was powerful, but not quite powerful enough to defeat the Jedi Lord. James Skywalker was powerful, but not quite powerful enough to defeat Darth Chaos. After a half hour of battling, Darth Chaos plunged his lightsaber through Zak’s chest.
“NOOO!” James yelled.
He ran forward, attacking Darth Chaos with full force. They were soon off the bridge, and they battled deeper and deeper into the forest. The battle raged for hours. They reached a large door, the entrance to a system of tunnels. They continued battling, into the tunnels, into a huge cave filled with boxes, shelves, ammunition, and explosives. A secret base.
They reached the center of the room, where a large holographic projector stood. Darth Chaos pressed a button on the control panel. Then he turned off his lightsaber. James swung his lightsaber at Darth Chaos. And Darth Chaos turned his lightsaber back on, sending its black blade straight through his heart. He had committed suicide.
Chapter Twenty-Nine
James dropped his lightsaber and stepped back, shocked.
And then the holographic projector turned on. It displayed the image of Darth Chaos, playing something previously recorded.
On the video, Darth Chaos said, “Greeting, Jedi Lord. If you are watching this, I am dead, and the prophecies of the coming of the Jedi Lord have come to pass. I have realized the flaws of my ways. The Dark Side of the Force is a snare from which it is impossible to escape. It offers power, great power. However, the power of the Dark Side can only be used through anger, hatred, malice, evil. The Dark Side requires something to attack, something to kill, for its power to be present. Those that become ensnared in the Dark Side cannot escape. They must battle every foe, even every friend, becoming more and more powerful. But the power is useless. Those ensnared in its evils are hated by all, attacked by all. There is no peace in the Dark Side. Evil does not know peace. To battle and destroy every foe, every friend, everything until the universe is nonexistent is the overall goal of the Dark Side, but it is a goal that will not, that cannot ever happen. In the end, the forces of good are destined to triumph, and my only escape from the ways of evil is death. Now you are left with a choice. This is the Imperial base on Wayland, a system of underground caverns that served as an Imperial laboratory and the Emperor’s personal library. It was here that technology such as cloaking was invented. It was here that the Empire built a top secret cloning facility, and was about to start making more stormtroopers. But the Empire was destroyed! Its destruction did not happen at the Second Death Star above Endor! Its destruction only began there! It was here that the Empire was finally destroyed. Here, where Luke Skywalker battled his clone made from the hand he lost on Bespin! Here, where I became a Sith! The New Republic thought they had destroyed this place, but its remains survive. It is a place filled with explosives, strange inventions, and most of all, knowledge of the Dark Side of the Force. Now, you have succeeded, you have fulfilled the prophecies. You have become the Jedi Lord. And I am dead. The Sith Order is no more. So I leave you with a choice, you can learn from the knowledge hidden within this place, the knowledge of the Dark Side of the Force. You can embrace the power of its evils, and let the Sith rise once again. Or, you can destroy this place, and forever cut off the knowledge of evil from the galaxy! If you are truly the Jedi Lord, you will make the right choice in this decision. The Sith Order was once great, but it will never rise again. Now, it is finished!”
Chapter Thirty
That was the end of the recording. James looked at the dead body of Darth Chaos.
“Death was not your only escape,” James said, “You could have become a Jedi.”
James turned off his lightsaber. He walked over to a large set of explosives. Setting the timer for ten minutes, he left the base, and walked out into the forest. He climbed a nearby hill from which he could see the great mountain the base was inside from a safe distance. And just as he reached the top, the explosives detonated, creating an explosion that blasted the mountain apart.
James watched as the last remains of the Sith were forever destroyed.
Meanwhile above Naboo, the rubble from the Death Star fell into orbit. It created a beautiful set of rings around the planet.
The rings remained there forever, an eternal reminder of the greatest triumph of the Jedi. _________________
