My very first Fanfiction: A new Apprentice

This was the first fanfiction I ever wrote. I am currently working on a different ending to it, considering it was horrible.
NOTE: Some of the stuff isn't canon. Like Jacen's personality dosen't quite fit...
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
The young man sat there, quietly, unmoving, uncaring. His mind was blank, nothing was running throughout it. It was a silent day. Nobody even had thought to strike up a conversation with him.

His name was Travis, and his father had died less than three hours ago. He knew he would never see his loving father, teacher, and friend ever again. He knew it, but he yet realized what it meant. His father went by the name of Hoojo Grelk, it was his Jedi name. Rarely did anyone ever call him Jake. Travis didn’t comprehend all this Jedi gibberish. Travis’ father taught him to use a lightsaber, the weapon of a Jedi.

Did it mean he would ever withdraw it again? Maybe. Maybe not. Travis was asked to come to a far moon of Yavin. Hoojo was trained by a wonderful Jedi, Luke Skywalker. When Luke heard of Hoojo’s death he invited Travis to come stay at the Jedi academy until he figured out what was to become of his life. Luke knew Travis may decline the offer to finish his training, but Luke was going to give it a shot.

“He will become a powerful ally!” Luke told another Jedi master by the name of Kyle Katarn. Luke trained Kyle at the same time as training Hoojo.

“Yes, I understand.” Kyle said quickly ahead of the complete council of Jedi. “It would be an honor to train someone so strong with the force, but what if he chooses the same path as his father?”

“Just because I made a mistake with his father doesn’t mean I will make the same mistake.”

“Luke I am not saying you will make another mistake like that, I’m saying Jake made a mistake in trust, what if his son makes the same mistake? I am not blaming this catastrophe on you Luke.”

“Kyle…Kyle…Kyle. My father was a Sith Lord! I am a Jedi. Did I make the same mistake? I know you are not blaming this on me, but I am. I knew there was something going wrong and I failed to explore.”

“Okay. I accept the boy as my apprentice, but we all must accept the responsibility to keep a close eye on him. He could be a grand ally, or an appalling opponent. “

The Jedi council all agreed and as Luke Skywalker closed the meeting all 15 Jedi stood out of their seats and were dismissed.

A few minutes following the meeting Kyle, Luke, Jacen Solo met up outside the doorway to discuss the arrival of their new student. Jacen Solo was the son of Luke’s twin sister, Leia, and his best friend, Han. Each Luke, Kyle, and Jacen had a separate to oversee for this new assignment. If Travis accepted the idea to continue his training Kyle would be his Master, Luke would be instructing his courses, and Jacen’s job was to befriend Travis in hope of Travis staying.

“Luke I’m sorry to question you, but if I’m supposed to make sure he stays and I have to become his friend, what if he finds out?” Jacen asked his uncle.

“Find out what?” Luke questioned.

“Finds out that I didn’t really become his friend? I was only doing an assignment.”

“If he finds out we will worry about it then, but until then let’s try to focus on what is requested of us.”

“Yes sir”

“Okay, well Jacen, Travis should be arriving sometime early in the morning, so you better head home and get a good night’s sleep.”

“Okay Luke, will do, see you in the morning.” Jacen took a step towards Luke and gave him a hug.

“Oh, and do me a favor?”

“Anything you ask.”

“Tell your mom and dad I said hi. Tell them they need to drop by the temple some time.”

“Okay I’ll tell them. Bye Luke, see you in the morning.” Jacen waved then turned around and walked home to see his mom and dad. He was excited. Jedi only go home on the weekends. They spent the week at the temple so they didn’t have to go far in order to go to their classes. He didn’t know what the use of going home was; he would only be back first thing in the morning. He was some what happy to be able to have a roommate at he temple. Ever since Anakin had died it got a bit quiet.

no that really wasn't bad. I didn't know that Jedi could even see their families until their training was complete. Like how you added characters from that game and books! Razz
Jedi Abba

I'm not quite sure they can...but since it all tkaes place in the New Jedi Order I'm sure it is all allowed.

In the clone Wars era Jedi arn't allowed to love, but yet in the New Jedi Order...Luke gets married. I'm sure it is compltely okay for Jedi to see their familys...but I have no clue.

I wrote all this before I ever even read anything of the EU. So a lot of it dosen't make sense, but I thought it was written pretty well.
Dark Light

lol yeah that was pretty good!
Jedi Abba

A Golden beautiful space ship gently landed on the landing platform. The door opened up and out stepped a young man probably about twenty years old. His hair was golden brown, his eyes were dark and cruel, and his face looked like it had not sympathy for anyone. He was dressed in a black robe that dragged behind his feet.

“Hello, and welcome to the Jedi Academy! My name is Jacen. I will be your guide for the day.” Jacen said excitedly while walking towards the teen.

“I’m sorry but I’m tired and I would prefer to be taken straight to my quarters where I can get a good night’s sleep.” He looked towards Jacen with nothing but hatred in his cold dark eyes. “Maybe we can chat tomorrow.”

“Okay, I’m sorry. Well your sleeping arrangements may be a bit awkward at first. We will be sharing our dorm. Since we will be roommates it would be pretty important if I knew your name.”

The guest turned and looked at Jacen miserably. “My name is Travis. I’m not too happy about these sleeping arrangements. How can I get a room of my own?”

Jacen looked somewhat sad to see his roommate wasn’t impressed. “Well you will have the entire place to your self on weekends! Fridays and Saturdays I get the chance to go home and spend some time with my family.”

“Okay whatever. Can you just hurry up and show me where the room is?” Jacen could already tell Travis was a very demanding person.

“Yes as soon as possible, but first we have to report to the temple. There you will meet my uncle, Luke Skywalker. He’s a fantastic Jedi and a splendid instructor.”

“Why must I meet him? I never agreed to continue my training.”

“Yes we all know. He would just like a few moments to speak with you. He’s eager about your visit.”

“Okay…..lead the way.”

“Follow me.”

Jacen lead Travis through a few streets from their landing point until they reached a gigantic reddish-white structure. Travis was astonished of the architecture of all the buildings in the area. He had seen the buildings of the planet Naboo, but they weren’t even close to what he was seeing here. His father showed him old photographs of the original dome shaped Jedi temple, but nothing like the structure of these buildings. Suddenly Travis felt different. He realized he was spending these days the wrong way. He shouldn’t be pouting over the fact that his father was gone, he needed to finish what he started. Travis was meant to stay here, he was meant to be a Jedi.

“Travis, this is my uncle, my instructor, and a skillful Jedi. This here is Luke Skywalker.” Jacen wondered what was going on inside of Travis’ head. Was there hate for Jacen? Was there hate for the Jedi order? Hate for the murder for his father? Or, maybe Travis was nicer than he looked or seemed. Maybe he just had too much stress.

“Hello master Skywalker. Nice day isn’t it? It’s a privilege to be here under your presence, under your request.” Travis then seemed somewhat joyful and Jacen didn’t understand.

“Welcome Travis. I see you have met my nephew. He’s a bit onward, but once you get to know him better I have a feeling you two will make great buddies.” Luke turned and looked at Jacen. Luke noticed the blank look on his face, shot him a smile, and then turned back to Travis. “On behalf of the Jedi academy, including the students and masters we are happy to have you here. We are sorry about your father’s death and we hope to assist you cope with it much better here under our company. We would also enjoy it if you would give us the opportunity of finishing your training, but of course that is up to you.”

“Well master Skywalker-” Before Travis could finish what he was about to say Luke interrupted him.

“Please…call me Luke. Until you are certain about your training I’m not your master, just your friend.”

“Okay then. Well Luke I was thinking and I would like to finish my training. After a few days to get a feel for this place I would feel honored to be under the instruction of you.”

“Actually, if you do continue your training your master will be Kyle Katarn. He’s a skilled Jedi and a fantastic friend of mine. I’m not sure if you have ever heard of the great Jaden Korr, but Kyle trained him and did a wonderful job doing so. Jaden was trained right here in the academy.”

“Yes, I have heard of Jaden Korr. My dad told me a lot about him. My dad told me he’s a real nice guy.”

“Jaden and your father were in the same class. Except I had the opportunity to train your father. You will most have the chance to meet Jaden sooner or later. He and your father were friends. I last heard from Jaden a few days ago and he said when given the chance he would like to speak with the son of his best friend.”

“Well that would be great.”

“Yes it would. I know you are probably getting tired, and it’s about time for you to head off. Tomorrow I will arrange for you to meet your future Jedi master, and for Jacen to give you a tour of the area. Jacen, why don’t you go ahead and show him the way to the quarters.”

Jacen, who at this point was drifting away from the conversation suddenly jumped and quickly looked at Luke. “Oh, I’m sorry. His quarters? Sure think Luke.”

“Thank you Jacen and I will most likely see you in the morning okay Travis?”

Travis looked at Jacen then back at Luke. “Yeah, you will. Bye Luke.”

Travis and Jacen then left the building. Travis left as a new person, and Jacen left annoyed with this new person.
